Mommy's little helper

It is so exciting to watch Addison explore the world. We love to see her learn new things every day. She loves to play games. Her new favorites are "Hide & Seek" and being chased around the home by dad. All of a sudden, even her old baby toys are exciting to her again and she can entertain herself for long periods of time. It has become a whole new world to us because she is in to everything! Today I was unloading the dishwasher and the next thing I knew, Addison was standing at the dishwasher, trying to help. The only problem with this new mobility is that she hardly has time to eat or sleep because she is too busy destroying/exploring.

The Princess Has Arrived?!?

We were running errands today and we ran into a friend from church. She told me that she was in the infant room at church last Sunday and that when Addison was carried into the room by the nursery aide, Addison made sure all attention was on her. She said that Addison pretty much acted like the party could finally start because she had arrived! Addison apparently commanded all the attention by smiling and flirting with all of the workers and our friend said she acted like a little princess. It was nice to hear because she is such a mommas girl and last time I attempted to take her to the gym, I was called back because she would not stop crying.

Happy Easter

Welcome to our blog! I consider myself to be fairly tech savvy but I am experiencing technical difficulties with this particular program. I'll have to ask my fellow bloggers for help. Anyway, Addison's first Easter was a lot of fun and here are some pictures from various Easter egg hunts and playdates.

Elvis

We went to a little Mexican food restaurant in a strip mall on Saturday. We had previously dined there on a Friday night and had been pleased with the food and service but on this particular Saturday we had a very different experience. Perhaps it was the Elvis impersonator singing karaoke? While he sang a couple of Elvis songs, he spent most of the time belting out patriotic tunes (God Bless America comes to mind). The food took forever to arrive but Addison was very entertained by Elvis and the steady stream of people walking to the bathroom (they stuck us in a table right next to the single stall bathroom). I did get a picture of Addison showing off her "So Big" skills. It was a random experience that I will not forget soon!

So Big!!!

I had been playing the "So Big" game with Addison for months and she finally caught on and raised her arms in the air last week. She loves showing how big she is all the time, even when nobody is asking her "How big is Addison". It's hard to capture her in the act though because as soon as the camera comes out, her arms usually go down. I also added some random play pictures.

Pet Shop

Our neighbor is a Petco store manger and just opened a new store close to our house. We don't have any pets at home so Addison had so much fun watching all of the little critters at the store. She was all smiles and giggles while we were there. Her favorite animals were the clown fish but she thought that the mouse running in his wheel was hilarious.

Basketball

Henry and I both love basketball. In fact, our first "official" first date was playing basketball at the school gym. Henry let me win the first game and since then, I believe I have only won one additional game of HORSE. Henry is way too competitive to let me win at any game (from basketball to Scrabble). Henry is playing in a nearby city basketball league so Addison, my mom and I went to check out his game. Addison had fun cheering from behind her spiffy sunglasses.

Recovery

Addison loved the attention from Grandma and I think this picture with Henry is so cute too. There is also a picture of Addison drinking from her cup. I think she has become very skilled at cup drinking.

While Addison was recovering at home, we got a serious case of cabin fever. Two of my friends with babies Addison's age came over to bring us dinner with the added treat that they stayed to play. It was a major highlight of the recovery period for me to talk to adults and for Addison to have some babies to admire. I think this picture is so funny because the two other babies are eating their solid food and Addison is sitting there in her birthday suit completely jealous that she can't join in.
